It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Oral Health and Systemic Disease Research Group (OHSD) website. We aim to inform you here on what we do, who is involved, what you can do with us as graduate or DMD students, clinical residents, post-doctoral researchers, or future faculty or collaborators.

Our aim is to rigorously support the research and scholarship mission of the School of Dentistry, the Health Science Center and the University of Louisville.

We encourage you to interact with us, contribute and help us in advancing dentistry and oral research through new discoveries in basic science and their clinical translation.

OHSD researchers are well-funded, highly productive and approachable. Our faculty care about science, health issues and translating new information to help people by making clinical breakthroughs that will facilitate disease management.

We are engaged primarily in studying the effects of bacteria on the host and how these local, oral effects may influence systemic health.
