Funding Newsletters and DatabasesSMARTS/GENIUSThis "subscription service," is an electronic matching and funding opportunity notification system which provides investigators with a direct and targeted electronic link to comprehensive, current U.S. Federal, non-Federal and international research funding information. SMARTS targets funding opportunities by using keywords that you provide in an investigator profile. In order to receive funding notifications, simply complete the GENIUS profile by clicking on the SMARTS/GENIUS link above. On the SMARTS/GENIUS homepage, choose "Create a New Profile" and follow the instructions provided. (Note: You must fill out the General Information and Keyword categories in order to receive funding opportunity notifications). SPIN(TRY THE "ADVANCED SEARCH"): Sponsored Programs Information Network is a database of over 6000 programs, from both the public and private sectors, that provide funding for research and special projects across a wide variety of subject areas. Instructions for setting up a search of opportunities in your area of research can be found under the HELP button within the SPIN Program or call the Office of Sponsored Programs Development for assistance (x6512). The Grant Advisor Plusis an on-line information service for grantspersons and faculty in higher education. They provide monthly newsletters, searchable listings of grant and fellowship opportunities, and a list of program deadlines by subject area for institutions and faculty.
Grants Resource CenterThe Grants Resource Center (GRC) offers a full range of services, including the tracking of both public and private resources of the latest sponsored programs news and information. In order to serve our UofL faculty more efficiently, faculty should first contact the Office of Sponsored Programs and Development for assistance by calling ext. 6512 before calling the GRC offices.(New links will be completed as they become available.)

GrantsNetThe Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the American Association for the Advancement of Science have teamed up help support the efforts of young researchers in the biomedical and clinical sciences. The collaboration has resulted in GrantsNet, a searchable database of funding opportunities with a targeted of resource of 350 programs to support the research of graduate students, postdoctoral scientists and junior faculty. The service also includes an e-mail notification as new program announcements and updates become available.
