Training and Outreach Program

The Department of Environmental Health and Safety provides essential safety training both in-person and online to university researchers, staff, and students. 

All employees and students are required to complete all EHS trainings appropriate for their work environment or course of study. In addition to DEHS training, supervisors must provide lab-specific training. The training matrix below provides a list of training courses that apply to specific job duties.

Commonly required courses include:

  • General Lab Safety & Hazardous Waste
  • Basic Biosafety
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Radiation Safety
  • IBC and NIH Guidelines
  • Shipping Biologicals and Dry Ice
