Research Compliance
Research at UofL must meet regulatory and compliance standards. The Office of Research and Innovation works with campus partners to ensure ethical, responsible conduct across all research activities.
Compliance is regulated across the following:
Research integrity and ethics
The Office of Research Integrity oversees the education and training of responsible conduct of research and scholarship. To conduct research at UofL, investigators need to complete the proper research compliance training.
Export control
When research becomes international, the Export Control Program assists investigators in complying with export control laws to ensure the security and integrity of data.
Research security
The Research Security Program ensures the integrity, protection and responsible collaboration of our university's research enterprise.
Human subjects research
The Human Subjects Protection Program provides support for the two UofL Institutional Review Boards (IRB). The IRB serves to protect the rights and welfare of research study participants.
Comparative medicine research
The Comparative edicine Research Unit oversees the operations of all UofL animal facilities and serves as a resource to researchers who have received UCAW approval to work with animals.
Conflict of interest
The Conflict of Interest and Commitment Office manages conflicts of interest for the University of Louisville. Researchers are required to meet several conditions to ensure research is conflict-free.
