Human Research & IRB

The Human Subjects Protection Program (HSPP) provides support for the two UofL Institutional Review Boards (IRB). The IRB serves to protect the rights and welfare of research study participants.

Navigating IRB Review

The HSPP developed resources to aid in the development of study documents, navigating the IRB submission process and maintaining compliant research.
Templates

iRIS resources
Tip sheets, step-by-step instructions and video tutorials for navigating iRIS are available for researchers needing assistance.
Policy and guidance
The HSPP policy manual outlines requirements for researchers. Guidance materials are also available.
Study management tools
Customizable tools to support study documentation and compliance.

Submitting to the IRB

Whether submitting a new study or closing one, the HSPP has resources to help any stage of the process. Contact the IRB analyst assigned to your department if you have additional questions.
