Sponsored Program Administration

Once your proposal is funded, your award must be set up and actively managed in accordance with sponsor and university requirements.

The Office of Sponsored Programs Administration (OSPA), part of the UofL Office of Research and Innovation, administers all externally sponsored UofL activities funded by federal, state and local agencies, private nonprofit organizations and industry partners, including:

  • Research and research training
  • Training and instruction
  • Service projects  

How OSPA supports you

OSPA partners with faculty and research teams throughout the award lifecycle to help you:
Set up your award
Before you can spend funds or start work, your award must be set up in university systems.
Manage your award
During an award’s lifecycle, proactive action and maintenance may be needed to meet project needs and sponsor requirements.
Monitor subrecipients
Monitoring activities throughout the lifecycle of a sponsored program are required to ensure sponsor compliance.
Close out your award
Get assistance with closing sponsored projects and confirm the timely submission of required final reports.
