Meet Our Team
Will Metcalf
Will Metcalf is an Associate Vice President for Research and Innovation at UofL responsible for leading efforts to scale UofL’s research commercialization pipeline. In this role, he oversees initatives to protect UofL’s intellectual property, deepen public-sector collaborations, translate discoveries for the public good, and grow industry partnerships.
Since 2019, he has led the modernization of the University’s industry engagement efforts with a focus on national defense, life sciences, and manufacturing. In 2023, he brought the NIST-funded Manufacturing Extension Partnership to UofL to support Kentucky's manufacturers. In 2024, he became principal investigator on UofL’s NSF Innovation-Corps award, fostering dozens of tech ventures. In 2025, with DoW support, he launched the Defense Innovation OnRamp Hub: Kentucky to accelerate adoption of commercial technology for national security.
With experience in venture-finance, healthcare, national security innovation and non-profit leadership, Metcalf is passionate about how UofL translates discovery into real-world solutions that drive economic growth across Kentucky.
Amy Moseley
Amy Moseley serves as the liaison for researchers and clinicians at UofL looking to partner with industry in areas of healthcare and health sciences. In this role, Amy works with companies to understand their needs and identify researchers that can collaborate with them to solve problems.
Amy spent many years in industry leading product development teams in agriculture and nutrition. She brings practical experience from her roles in industry as a project manager and uses those skills to identify opportunities to engage UofL with industry partners who can work together to create innovative solutions.
Amy is a graduate of Purdue University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, and UofL, where she earned her PhD in Biochemistry. She also worked as a postdoc in medical research at the University of Cincinnati.
