Meet Our Team
Rand Haley
Rand Haley serves as Senior Director of Strategic Research Infrastructure at UofL, leading efforts to build and strengthen university-level infrastructure that supports research performance and competitiveness. In this role, he provides strategic oversight and advocacy for core facilities and advises senior research leadership on infrastructure strategy and investment.
Haley joined UofL in 2022 as the inaugural leader focused on core research facility strategy, management, and operations across the university. He developed the university’s first core facilities strategy, launched the Louisville Research Core program to foster a high-performing core ecosystem, and helped secure a major philanthropic investment to transform biomedical research cores at UofL.
With over 25 years of experience leading consulting engagements at research universities, academic medical centers, hospitals and other research institutions, Haley is passionate about designing, building, and strengthening research infrastructure that meaningfully advances UofL’s overall research enterprise.
Jen Van Duine
Jen Van Duine is the Program Manager of Shared Research Facilities, helping to develop and implement strategies that improve the management, operations and coordination of core research facilities across the university.
With more than a decade of experience in research core facility administration, Van Duine is passionate about strengthening shared research infrastructure, improving operational efficiency and reducing barriers to core facility utilization to help enable successful research projects.
Prior to joining UofL in 2023, she spent 10 years managing a protein array core facility at Arizona State University, where she gained firsthand experience supporting researchers through specialized technologies and services.
