The university of Louisville holds an institutional membership to the National Postdoc Association. The membership allows anyone from UofL to join with an affiliate membership.
UofL is also proud to announce the creation of an NPA local chapter, providing support in the areas of professional growth, social connection and collaborative efforts to advocate for policies and best practices for the entire UofL Postdoctoral community.

The University of Louisville is committed to ensuring best practices for Postdocs, including following guidelines of the federal government and recommendations from the National Post Doc Association. The Post Doc Advisory Committee recommends that each Postdoc and their mentor formerly develop a mentoring plan that will guide the Postdoc towards a launch into a success professional career. NIEHS offers an example of an Individual Development Plan however, NSF and other organizations also offer
excellent IDP examples on their websites. The Guide to Using an IDP: IDP and ME is an excellent resource for creating and using an IDP effectively.
Postdoctoral Fellows and Trainees are encouraged to seek out funding opportunities. The Office of Research and Innovation keeps two databases of opportunities, including Pivot, and INFOREADY.
